In keeping with today’s theme of using the internet to help grow a business, we’re harking back to one of our favorites – social media. It really should be a must for any small business’s marketing mix.


Mostly because everyone’s online these days. And of that, a majority are on social media. So it’s the perfect way for small business owners to connect and engage with their customers. Research has shown that people are more likely to buy from a business they’ve found on social media, and even more so if they feel a personal connection with the business.

It’s cost-effective. Most social media platforms are free, with options to boost your brand with paid advertising.

Then there’s the versatility. You can post images, videos, news updates and blogs. And it’s a great way to drive traffic to your business website.

Finally, it’s how you can show your customers your personality, your business ethos and your vision. So the question really is – why WOULDN’T you be on social media?
