Sometimes, small business owners get so caught up in the day-to-day running of their business they forget to get out there and promote their brand. Marketing is all too often a task that loses momentum after start-up. That’s why it’s a good idea to have some content on the small business section of your bank’s website that focuses on boosting brand awareness – after all, if their customers don’t know about them, how will they buy from them?

For example, if a small business owner is selling equestrian equipment, they might sponsor a local Pony Club event, even set up a stall with some of their samples. Or they could attend and blog about it later on their website.

Becoming a thought leader is also a great way to boost brand awareness. If a small business owner positions themselves as an expert in the industry they’re in, they’ll be bringing their brand into customer consciousness. Speaking at industry events, holding workshops and publishing articles are great ways of doing this.
