Launching a small business – the basics

One of the most popular features of any bank’s resources on small business is how to go about actually starting one. The first place your customers are going to look after they’ve had a ‘light bulb’ moment for a business idea is the small business section of your website, so they can find out what they need to do to get things off the ground.

Aside from being on hand to offer them face-to-face advice, there are some key pieces of content your small business section should include, such as:

  • A business plan guide and template. This is an essential tool for not only laying out their idea, but their goals and how they plan to accomplish them.
  • A break-even analysis guide and template. They have to crunch the numbers, or even the most brilliant idea can’t get off the ground.
  • A checklist of personal attributes needed to become an entrepreneur. Someone can have the best idea in the world, but if they don’t have what it takes to run a business, it’ll falter.
