Social media should be a part of any small business’s marketing mix. It’s cheap – often free! – and it’s an effective and easy to use marketing tool. Small businesses need to be where their customers and potential customers are, and these days, they’re all online.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn – these are all easy, free and fun marketing solutions. Not only that, but they’re also very effective since so many people use them. They’re great platforms for connecting and engaging with customers. Unlike traditional face-to-face media, social media allows small business owners to communicate with a large number of people in a short space of time, with a few taps on the keyboard or smartphone. With a social media presence, they can listen to what customers are saying about their business, their competitors and their industry – and can step in and join the conversation if necessary.
